around the world in 16 days

So, I just posted last night, but I have to share a little bit of my excitement. In just over a week, I am going to Cambodia for two weeks (yes, I'll be gone over Thanksgiving). I was lying in bed thinking about it this morning - the warm weather, rice at every meal, visiting the market, taking photographs, getting to know our Cambodian staff better, meeting people from another U.S. church partner - I'm incredibly excited.

Then, to make things all the more interesting, it worked out to fly through Dubai so that I could visit family friends on my way home. More good food, warm weather, visiting with good friends...I shouldn't ever complain about my job! Some of my coworkers roll their eyes on occasion at my enthusiasm for travel - "you obviously haven't traveled enough if you still enjoy it so much" - but I don't know if I'll ever get tired of it. I'm sure it's possible; I can imagine it gets pretty wearing not being home half the time, and tough to maintain consistent relationships. But I love it, the little I've done in comparison.

It may not be all the way around the world (I'm not flying over the Pacific), but it's definitely a multi-country experience. No wonder I couldn't sleep in this morning. :)

I am so very jealous... I assume you will see the Stiles? What I wouldn't give to travel like that, you have no idea. Hope things are well.

Yes! I do get to see the Stiles. Will you get to travel at all with the Navy?
